In collaboration with Bell Flight, we are currently adding haptic feedback to helicopter controls and seats with our magnetorheological actuators to give pilots an understanding of the helicopter’s condition through the transmission of real-time tactile signals to their hands and back. Our technology gives pilots better situational awareness of the flight envelope. As a result, there will be less need for maintenance on helicopters as fewer pilots will unknowingly exceed rotorcraft limits.

Automotive

Exonetik is a key partner in the automotive industry. We offer value-adding technological solutions to respond to our customers’ requirements by turning passive applications into active high-performance applications, such as vibration cancellation in active seats and road bump cancellation in active vehicle suspensions. Our MR actuators increase vehicle and road safety and give the end-user a better and more smooth driving experience.

With Magna International, Exonetik has created an Active Seat Suspension System with our MR actuators reducing the vibrations of the seat with up to 78% on rough roads. Our suspension system will have a significant impact on the truck industry and the quality of life of truck drivers. Annual revenue losses of the trucking industry are estimated at $1.4bn due to health issues including musculoskeletal disorder caused by vibrations induced by the road.

Medical & Human Performance
